ராகவா லாரன்ஸ், ஆக்ஷன், காமெடி, ரொமான்ஸ் என எல்லாவற்றிலும் வெளுத்து வாங்கியிருக்கிறார். முதல் பாதியில் கோவை சரளா, சாம்ஸ், சதிஷ் ஆகியோருடன் இணைந்து இவருடைய காமெடிகள் ரசிக்க வைக்கின்றன. பிற்பாதிக்கு பிறகு ஆக்ஷனில் களமிறங்கி மாஸ் ஹீரோக்களுக்கு சவால் விடும் வகையில் நடித்திருக்கிறார். இவர் பேசும் வசனங்களில் அனல் தெறிக்கிறது. நிக்கி கல்ராணி, அழகு பதுமையாக வந்து போயிருக்கிறார். ரிப்போர்ட்டர் கதாபாத்திரத்திற்கு இன்னும் கொஞ்சம் மெனக்கெட்டிருக்கலாம். ஏனோ, அந்த கதாபாத்திரத்தோடு இவரை ஒப்பிட்டு பார்க்கமுடியவில்லை. ராகவா லாரன்சுடன் சேர்ந்து ஆடும்போதும் கொஞ்சம் திணறியிருக்கிறார். மற்றபடி, அவரது முயற்சிக்கு பாராட்டு தெரிவிக்கலாம்.
கோவை சரளா, சாம்ஸ், சதிஷ் ஆகியோரின் காமெடி படத்தில் ஓரளவுக்குத்தான் எடுபட்டிருக்கிறது. நேர்மையான போலீஸ் அதிகாரியாக வரும் சத்யராஜ், கம்பீரமான தோற்றம், சாந்தமான முகம் என ரசிக்க வைக்கிறார்.

Commercial Mass Film - Behindwoods

Lawrence mass performance are good, and his screen presence works in favor of the film, but it doesnt help for a longer time. Nikki Galrani has less performing space, and she appears in just songs, few uninteresting romance portions and the climax. Sathyaraj, as an honest police officer, justifies his role. Though there are comedy specialists like Kovai Sarala, Sathish, Motta Rajendran in the film, unfortunately, the humor doesnt work out.
Even though the audience will enjoy Lawrence dialogue delivery style, the over usage of punch dialogues could have been avoided. The pazha mozhi, pudhu mozhi dialogues are overdone.

Honest COP

Lawrence plays the title role in the film, Shiva. His character keeps swinging from one side to another without a shred of integrity. He is the son of an honest police officer, played by Sathyaraj, and he holds his father responsible for the death of his mother and her unborn kid. He goes away and becomes an IPS officer. He returns to Chennai with the sole purpose of getting back at his honest father and indulges in blatant corruption. And criminals in his jurisdiction are allowed to commit any crime without the fear of law as long as they send him his share.
Motta Shiva Ketta Siva is the remake of Telugu film Paatas and the director has tried to remain honest to its original mediocre film. If the film has managed to entertain at all, it is during the song sequences, where Lawrence provides some relief from the suffocation with his dance moves.

Though its been two years since a film of Raghava Lawrence hit the screens, he made a couple of attempts to win the hearts of people with his off screen acts recently. His Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva, the remake of Telugu hit film Pataas, hence, was expected to give him a boost with regard to his stardom.
The songs Hara Hara Mahadeva Ki, featuring Raai Laxmi, and Adaludan Paadalai Kettu, a remix of the yesteryear MGR song, which has Nikki Galrani, provide ample scope for glamour and the actresses add some oomph factor to keep the viewers glued to the screen.
