Mahabalipuram is Message with Too Many Hiccups


The problem withMahabalipuramis that the director finds it really difficult to portray friendship and romance in abelievablemanner, most of the time he has tried to convey it through dramatically written dialogues which is exactly opposite to the progressive new age Tamil cinema. Also, there is not even a single interesting moment in the first half as the director reserves everything to be revealed in the second half.

Mahabalipuram a Dramatic Twist


Experimentation is something which most of the upcoming directors love to toy with, falling into the same basket is Mahabalipuram which has an unconvincing first half with poorly crafted screenplay, dialogues, editing and almost every other aspect. Then suddenly the last 35 minutes of the film makes you forget the first half with a hard hitting message that involves sex scandals in a daunting truth.

Mahabalipuram a Different Movie

Mahabalipuram has Soodhu Kavvum fame Karunakaran besides Ramesh, Vetri, Karthik and Vinayak (also the producer) in the key roles. A suspense thriller it is about Panja (Vinayak) who is close to a local politician and helps him in his anti-social deeds. Panja’s life revolves around his friends, all of whom reside in Mahabalipuram. When one of his friends chooses to get married to his girlfriend, the other four help him do so.
