A. V. M. Rajan Biography

A.V.M.Rajan (Tamil: ஏ. வி. எம். ராஜன்) is a Tamil film actor of the 60s and 70s. He acted in the movie produced by AVM Productions called Nanum Oru Pen.a film that starred S.S.Rajendran in the lead role. Hence he became 'A.V.M'.Rajan. In the same picture Tamil actress Pushpalatha was acting and it was then that they became lovers and got married too. They subsequently acted as pairs in many films.

In the 60s and 70s I watched Shivaji and MGR movies a lot, not much of any body else, except AVM in side roles. I have seen AVM Rajan(Always Very Modest, his nick name) lead roles in the last year or so, Veettu mappilai, Thulabharam, Chakkram etc. I think if it was n't for Shivaji (best actor in India) AVM would have been on top in Tamil films, you can see how passionately he tries to live the character. Well, now he is a christian and he guaranteed salvation of his soul. See you in heaven pastor, we will talk about Kase than kadavuleda song, what a gem by par excellence TMS (no singer has the depth, variety) worth mentioning is only Rafi Sahib, TMS and Rafi are men among boys) and what an acting by AVM.

AVM Rajan has never acted with Kamalhasan like Raghuvaran, another extraordinary character actor of tamil nadu. AVM Rajan acted 3 films with super star rajini, and raghuvaran nearly 10 films with super star. This shows that character actors have not shown any interest to act with kamalhasan, as super star is basically a character actor and he encourages his fellow character actors to a great extent.
